Interactive 3D Design - Technologies

At Lateral Visions we have always developed our own 3D technology, ensuring that we stay several steps ahead. The technology platforms we have developed are varied, and suited to different applications. These technologies are available now for use in interactive 3D projects.

3D Web

Our flagship technology, the 3D Web provides a unique integration of interactive 3D and Web content. Projects can be delivered through a standard Web browser, without any program installation. Simply get users to browse to a Web address (Url).

The 3D Web technology is available for all browsers on Windows, and soon on Mac OSX and Linux. It supports a range of hardware, and will gracefully degrade if run on older or less capable hardware.

Applications include 3D websites, online visualisation, communication and marketing, and (serious) games.

Offline 3D

Our offline 3D technology can be delivered using CD-ROM or Download, and must be installed onto the users machine. It supports the Windows platform only. It gracefully degrades on older or less capable hardware. It can be modified and extended to support unusual, custom or bespoke hardware such as haptic input devices or custom 3D displays.

Applications include Serious Games, Simulations, or embedded projects.

Vehicle Simulation

Lateral Visions has a world-leading vehicle dynamics simulation technology, capable of simulating the behavior and responses of a vehicle in real-time. Created using real engineering research and references, the simulation has been used in the design of a race car by the University of Liverpool.

The vehicle simulation technology is currently integrated into our offline 3D platform, and so is well suited to driving simulator installations.

Applications include learning to drive, driving safety, high speed or race driving, vehicle advertising, and vehicle engineering (training, learning or practice).
